Radical Catamarans, headed by Ian Morse in the US will be displaying the Radical Bay 8000 at the Annapolis Boat Show. This yaers show will be held in October from the 7th through to the 11th, so if you're interested please drop by and see Ian and the Radical Bay on "B" Dock. This design is making quite a splash in the US market and we hope to see many more on the water in months to come. See you there!

VT950 LAUNCHED IN SOUTH AFRICA

Congratulation to Jan van Zyl on the launch of the first VT950 in South Africa. She looks fantastic. Built well away from the Ocean on the West Coast of South Africa, she is a credit to Jan who now has lots of fun to look forward to out on the water - just in time for Spring!

Schionnings Clean Up Darwin to Ambon!

The Darwin to Ambon Yacht Race has been and gone for another year, and the results are in! Line Honours and first place on Handicap (multihull) went to "Cruise Missile" (Waterline 1480) and coming in 3rd on handicap (multihull) was "Freedom Express" (Waterline 1480)! "LION KING" 2nd Alaskan 52 Launched

Serenity Shipyard launched a second Alaskan 52 in May. "Lion King" was built for Leo Wienands and is a credit to Leo and the boat yard as she is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Congratulation Leo - let the fun begin!

"ITCHIN 2 START" Building Workshops!

To be held in Port Stephens, the first workshop is planned for Saturday the 4th of September 2010. You will get to meet the Schionning team, learn what makes a good Multihull and how you can build a one yourself using one of our designs and kits. Brett will take you through some hands-on steps that will demonstrate most of the techniques you will use if you do build and you can learn all about the materials we use and why.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided and the day will finish with a short cruise in Port Stephens on one or more Schionning cats.

RADICAL CATAMARANS LAUNCHES FIRST BOAT!

Radical Catamarans run by Ian Morse and based in Port Haywood in the US have launched their first Radical Bay 8000, the first production built bi-plane design in the world! Ian reports that the boat sails beautifully and is floating right on design waterline. See the Radical Bay 8000 photo gallery for more photos of the finished article! RADICAL BAY 1060 MODEL!

Nico Peursum is currently building a scale model of the Radical Bay 1060 before beginning the construction of a full sized version. As you can see the model is coming along with one hull finished (complete with interior and action figure!) and it looks great! You can view more photos in the Radical Bay 1060 photo gallery! "Baby 2" Delivery from VIC to QLD!

Terry Wright, new owner of a part-finished Waterline 1320 that has now been christened "Baby 2", has completed a delivery from Victoria all the way up to the boat's new home on the Gold Coast. The boat was at a shell stage so Terry installed hydraulics and outboard motors and motored the unpainted Waterline to the Gold Coast, what an adventure! The Waterline 1320 performed beautifully in some rougher conditions that were experienced on the trip and Terry has kindly written a detailed story on his journey. Read It Here!

Sanctuary Cove 2010 - A Great Success!

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2010 was a great success for us here at Schionning Marine with solid interest in the new G-Force range and our power cats! Many thanks to the many people who came to see us at our stand, both new and old customers - your support is appreciated! We were very lucky to have two Schionning designs on the show with "Viento" on show (see her in the Brokerage) and the Prowler 10.4 currently in production by Formula Cruisers in New Zealand! Both fantastic examples of our designs. Thanks again to all who attended and we'll see you next year!
