This produces a cat that will sail easily with a moderate rig making her fast and easy to handle and coupled with the low volume accommodation, she is cheaper to build than boats of similar length. She has long hulls out forward giving heaps of buoyancy and safety for downwind flying. In case of rounding up or being caught unawares by a bullet the long hulls improve forward and diagonal stability often lacking in modern short ended boats.
